With Antony and Fred on the field, Manchester United beat Lyon in a friendly

In a friendly played this Wednesday, the Manchester United faced the Lyon in Edinburgh, Scotland, and won by 1 to 0. Donny van de Beek was responsible for scoring the only goal of the pre-season duel.

To start the match, coach Erik ten Hag opted to include both starters and youngsters. Winger Antony and defensive midfielder Fred were among those who started playing for the Manchester team. On Lyon’s side, striker Jeffinho, formerly of Botafogo, was on the pitch.

The nets were only balanced in the second half, when United substituted a good part of the team. Just four minutes after half-time, van de Beek added a beautiful volley after a cross to seal the victory for the English.

This was the club’s second triumph this pre-season, which had already beaten Leeds 2-0 last Wednesday. United’s next match will take place on Saturday, in a duel against Arsenal, played in New Jersey, in the United States.
