Sukhrab Magomedov, coach of Russian mixed martial artist (MMA) Magomed Ankalaev, has announced the date of his next fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The words of the specialist are quoted by RB Sport.
“The fight was tentatively scheduled for October 21, the opponent is still unknown. Maybe it will be Alexander Rakich, or we will fight again with Nikita Krylov, ”said Magomedov. He added that Ankalaev is ready to fight with any opponent who is assigned to him.
On December 11, 2022, Ankalaev fought for the UFC light heavyweight title with Pole Jan Blachowicz. The fight lasted five rounds and ended in a draw. The Russian fighter did not agree with the referee’s decision and threatened to leave the promotion. The head of the UFC, Dana White, criticized him for his passivity in the first rounds of the fight.
Before meeting with Blachowicz, Ankalaev won nine consecutive victories in the UFC. In total, the 31-year-old native of Dagestan has 17 victories and one defeat in his career.
