Guberniev wished victories to ex-Russian jumper Kulichenko, performing under the flag of Cyprus
Sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev in his Telegram channel praised the victory of ex-Russian high jumper Elena Kulichenko at the European Youth Championship for athletes under 23 years old.
The journalist urged to wish the athlete, who competes under the flag of Cyprus, new victories and good luck. “I won – and well done! Weak results speak of the purity of the sport, ”wrote Guberniev.
Kulichenko’s victory became known on July 17. The athlete was able to overcome the bar of 1.91 meters. The track and field athlete brought Cyprus the first-ever gold medal of the Youth Continental Championship.
The 20-year-old athlete trains in the USA. Kulichenko previously stressed that the United States treats Russians without negativity.
Kulichenko changed her citizenship in 2021. She is the vice-champion of Russia among juniors, as well as the winner of the youth European festival-2017.
