Newcomer “Zenith” Du Queiroz said that as a child he played football in prison with his father
Newcomer “Zenith” Du Queiroz spoke about playing football in prison. His words are reported by Sport-Express.
The Brazilian shared that when he was seven years old, his father was sentenced to three years. Together with his mother, Du Queiroz came to him on weekends and played football there with the children of other prisoners. “It is clear that the situation seems incredible – a child playing football in prison. But it actually happened,” he said.
The midfielder stressed that this story had a serious impact on his character. “I have seen enough of what kind of people are behind bars, in what conditions they live, what kind of suffering this causes. And this discouraged me from repeating their fate, ”he said.
The 23-year-old Brazilian joined Zenit on 1 July. Du Queiroz made his debut for the club in the Russian Super Cup, in which the Petersburgers defeated CSKA Moscow. Previously, he played for the Brazilian Corinthians.
