First female head coach in English football Hannah Dingley has been on the job for two weeks
Hannah Dingley, the first female head coach in English men’s professional football, has stepped down. It is reported by The Guardian.
The specialist worked for two weeks as an acting mentor of the club of the fourth division of the country, Forest Green Rovers. She was replaced by David Horsman, who led the Southampton second team. Dingli will return to work at the club’s academy.
“I am grateful to Hannah for working with the players while we went through the full hiring process and although she did not receive the top position this time, it was undoubtedly valuable experience and a big step on her career path,” said the owner of Forest Green Rovers” Dale Vince.
On November 29 last year, the International Football Federation (FIFA) announced the appointment of Frenchwoman Stephanie Frappart as the chief referee of the third round match of the 2022 World Cup group stage in Qatar between the national teams of Costa Rica and Germany. She became the first woman to work in this capacity at the World Cup.
