Thomas Muller does not agree with the result of the Ballon d’Or: “A disappointment”

Thomas Muller was not too happy with Messi’s Golden Ball. On his social networks, the Bayern Munich player expressed himself and did not agree with the result.

“From a Bavarian, Polish and also German point of view, the delivery of the Golden Ball was definitely a disappointment. For some, even a little more. Although I’ve been in the business for longer and so I’m not really surprised by the result, the whole thing formed or reinforced a thought in me: we have great players in the Bundesliga and we don’t have to hide,” he wrote on Instagram.

Dissatisfied, Muller said he will use the award as “motivation” in the game against Barcelona, at 17:00 next Wednesday, for the Champions League.

“For me, too, this is a great motivation to play everything at stake, in order to bring the Champions League back to Munich, and to show the football world what’s going on. German football has to offer. We have the next opportunity to do so next Wednesday,” he added.

“With Lionel Messi, the choice of the best individualist football ever produced won. So congratulations to Lionel for winning the Ballon d’Or, even though I think Robert Lewandowski would have deserved more this time around.”

Unbeaten in the tournament, Bayern Munich is the leader of Group E with 15 points, while Barcelona are just below with seven added (two wins, one draw and two defeats).
