O Marseille Olympics will again have a Brazilian athlete in its squad. This Friday, the club announced the arrival of left-back Renan Lodi, who signed permanently after leaving the Atletico Madrid.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Lodi cost the French coffers around 13 million euros (about R$69 million at current exchange rates). Atlรฉtico would still have kept 20% of the player’s rights.

Loaned to Nottingham Forest last season, the 25-year-old had lost ground in Spain under coach Diego Simeone. His move to England was also related to the chance of being called up to the national team after gaining more playing time.
Despite returning to Madrid at the end of his loan, Lodi’s situation at the club did not change and Atlรฉtico were interested in trading him. After rumors about a possible return to Athletico-PRteam for which he was revealed, the defender signed with Marseille.
Renan Lodi arrived in European football in 2019. In Spain, there were 118 matches played, with six goals and 10 assists. During his time at Forest, the Brazilian scored once and scored a goal in 32 appearances.
