Sergey Karasev said that the call to the meeting of UEFA referees was a surprise for him
Russian referee Sergei Karasev spoke about the call to the gathering of judges of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). His words are quoted by Sport-Express.
“I understand that this does not mean that I will be given international games. Whether I will judge is another story. But this is a positive moment, I will be very happy to come there and see the guys, ”Karasev said. He noted that this invitation came as a surprise to him.
It was reported on June 28 that Karasev received a call to the assembly of UEFA referees. The event will take place from 3 to 6 September 2023. It will be attended by referees working at matches under the auspices of the organization.
Russian teams and clubs do not take part in international tournaments by decision of UEFA and the International Football Federation from February 2022.
