Olympic champion quit sports to work in the Kremlin

Three-time Olympic champion in synchronized swimming Aleksandra Patskevich announced the end of her sports career. She is quoted by Match TV.

The athlete said that after the New Year she will start working in the Presidential Administration. In the Kremlin, she is in charge of managing public projects. Patskevich noted that she was never interested in a coaching career and she would not mind trying herself as a choreographer.

Patskevich won gold medals at the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Olympics in group competition. In addition, she has 13 victories at the world championships and four at the European championships.

In January of this year, four-time Olympic champion Alexander Tikhonov said that athletes have no place in politics. He expressed his conviction that they are taking other people’s places and do not solve important issues.
