The mother of Russian tennis player Andreeva denied information about her daughter’s change of citizenship
Raisa Andreeva, the mother of 16-year-old Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva, reacted to information about her daughter’s possible change of citizenship to French. It is reported by Metaratigs.
“I don’t know where the rumors came from, our agent published a refutation of this information. Otherwise, I have nothing to even add, ”said Andreeva Sr.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Tennis Federation (FTR), Shamil Tarpishchev, said that pressure was being put on Andreeva’s parents. “Of course, they are processed there from morning to night – we, the federation, cannot do anything here,” the functionary noted.
Prior to this, Tennis World USA reported that Andreeva allegedly wants to play under the French flag. The Russian tennis player lives and trains in France, at the academy in Cannes. The athlete’s agent Lev Kassil denied this information.
Andreeva made her Grand Slam debut this year. At Rolland Garros, she reached the third round, and at Wimbledon she flew out in the fourth round.
