Panama defeated the United States 5-4 on penalties after drawing 1-1 after 120 minutes on Wednesday in San Diego, California. With that, he qualified for his third final of the Concacaf Gold Cupin which they will face Mexico, who ran over Jamaica 3-0 in the second semifinal.
In the first match of the night, the Panamanian team took the lead with Iván Anderson in the 99th minute; however, Colombian-American Jesús Ferreira equalized in the 105th minute, forcing a penalty shoot-out.
In the kicks, goalkeeper Orlando Mosquera saved the kicks from Ferreira and Cristian Roldan, leading Panama to the grand final.
After eliminating the current champions, Panama will try to win, this Sunday, its first Gold Cup title against Mexico.

In the second semifinal this Wednesday, held in Las Vegas, the Mexicans easily defeated the Jamaicans by 3-0.
Henry Martín opened the scoring after just two minutes and Luis Chávez, with a free kick, doubled the score in the 30th minute. In stoppage time for the second stage, Roberto Alvarado scored Mexico’s third to close the scoring.
The 2023 Gold Cup final will be played this Sunday, 16, at the SoFi stadium in Inglewood, California.
