Shape experts recommend high-intensity interval training for fat loss
Experts from Shape magazine gave advice on how to increase the effectiveness of fat-burning workouts. Recommendations are given on the publication’s website.
Experts said: in order to burn more fat in less time, you need to engage in high-intensity interval training – HIIT. This is because the body registers high-intensity exercise as a stressor and increases production of the fat-releasing hormone catecholamines. “Because the body does not increase catecholamines to the same extent during stationary cardio, you are more likely to melt more abdominal fat while doing HIIT, even if you burn the same amount of calories,” explained Gail Trapp, MD, MD.
Experts have recommended regularly increasing the pace during cardio workouts. At the same time, they noted that the duration of the intervals of different loads does not matter, so it is worth trying different options depending on the level of training.
Earlier, dietitian Trista Best listed habits to prolong youth by reducing the risk of developing diseases. She advised following a Mediterranean diet, which involves regular consumption of protein and healthy fats, and reducing the amount of ultra-processed foods in the diet.
