Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) signed a new victory in the 2023 Tour de France at the Moulins finish lineby achieving in the eleventh stage his fourth win in this editionwhile the Danish Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo Visma) kept the yellow jersey in a general without changes.

The Belgian cyclist from Alpecin-Deceuninck showed that he is the fastest in this Tour, in which he has only missed one victory, which was scored by the Danish Mads Pedersen. But in Moulins he had perhaps the easiest triumph of his and won with superiority ahead of the Dutch Dylan Groenewegen (Jayco AlUla) and the German Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain Victorious).

From the beginning the escape attempts were constant, and in the end the escape of the day took place. Andrey Amador (EF Education-Easypost), Daniel Oss (TotalEnergies) and Matis Louvel (Arkea-B&B Hotels) were at the head of the race. They rode ahead of the peloton for many kilometres, but the main group kept them in check at all times and didn’t let them get too far ahead.

So, the first to give up from the third head was Louvel, whom the peloton gave chase with 52.6 kilometers to go. Shortly after, when there were 48.6 kilometers to go, Amador surrendered. Therefore, Oss was left alone in the lead, and his adventure ended with 13.5 kilometers to go.

The peloton arrived grouped at the final stretch. Nervousness was palpable in the environment, since because of the wind there was a risk of fans. In any case, there were no cuts and the stage victory was decided by sprint. In the final meters, Philipsen was the fastest, Groenewegen was second and bauhaus third.

There were no changes in the top positions of the general classification, so leader Jonas Vingegaard still has a 17 second lead over Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates) and of 2 minutes and 47 seconds on Jai Hindley (BORA-hansgrohe). The Basque cyclisto Pello Bilbao (Bahrain Victorious) remains fifth, 4 minutes and 36 seconds behind Vingegaard.
