Lionel Messi says his family is happy with his decision to move to Inter Miami
Argentine striker Lionel Messi spoke about his family’s reaction to his decision to move to Major League Soccer (MLS) club Inter Miami. The athlete’s words are quoted by RMC Sport.
“My family is happy with the decision. We are ready and willing to take on this new challenge, this change,” Messi said. He added that he will try to give his all for himself and for the club in order to continue to perform at the highest level.
The striker announced his move to the American team on June 7. According to Marca, he will earn 50-60 million dollars a year.
Messi has been playing for Paris Saint-Germain since 2021. His contract with the Parisians ran until June 2023 with the option of a one-season extension. Prior to that, the striker played for Barcelona throughout his career. As part of the Catalans, he won the Spanish championship ten times and won the Champions League four times.
