In “Spartak” they said that the ex-legionary Mevli had their accounts arrested because of the game in Russia
The technical coordinator of Spartak Artem Rebrov said that the ex-legionary of the club Miha Mevlya faced problems due to performances in Russia. His words are available on Sports.ru.
“He had serious problems in Slovenia: because of the game in Russia, they wanted to exclude children from kindergarten, bank accounts were arrested, they were summoned somewhere almost like a criminal,” Rebrov explained. He noted that the player himself did not tell anyone anything, the team found out about the situation some time later.
“From Mevle, it was clear that he himself wanted to leave as soon as possible, if only the political pressure would stop,” Rebrov said, adding that due to the situation, the football player’s results worsened.
Mevlya played for Spartak from September 2022 to January 2023. Previously, he played in the Russian Premier League for Zenit, Rostov and Sochi. At the moment, the 33-year-old Slovenian is a free agent.
In March 2022, the International Football Federation (FIFA) allowed legionnaires to unilaterally suspend contracts with Russian clubs. The option was extended three times, players can use it until June 30, 2024.
