Olympic champion Roman Kostomarov showed a new training video with prostheses
Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov showed a new training video with prosthetic legs. The video appeared on the athlete’s Instagram page (social network is banned in Russia; belongs to the Meta company, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
On the footage, Kostomarov is engaged in a leg machine. “Like a woman after childbirth … I am engaged. You see what adductor muscles!” — the athlete signed the video, adding that the exercises are not easy.
Kostomarov was discharged from the hospital on July 6. The figure skater published a video in which he says goodbye to the staff of the medical institution and thanks the doctors for saving his life.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. Due to the prolonged connection to a blood oxygenator and a ventilator, tissue began to die. Doctors amputated both feet of the figure skater, then the shins of both legs, the entire right hand and several fingers of the left.
