The Hockey Writers included the Russian Ovechkin in the list of the best forwards in the history of the NHL

Portal The Hockey Writers compiled a list of the best forwards in the history of the National Hockey League (NHL) and made three of them. It is available on the website.

Among the best was only one Russian – the captain of the Washington Capitals club Alexander Ovechkin. The top three also included Canadians Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe.

The other three included Canadians Sidney Crosby and Mario Lemieux along with Czech Jaromir Jagr, Canadians Luc Robitaille, Brian Trottier and Mike Bossy, as well as Bob Gainey, Steve Yzerman and Bobby Clarke.

Ovechkin is the second-best scorer in NHL history. On account of his 822 abandoned washers. He outpaced No. 3 Howe, 72 goals behind No. 1 Gretzky.

Ovechkin has been playing in the NHL since 2005. He spent all seasons in North America with Washington. Together with the club, the hockey player won the Stanley Cup in 2018.
