Czech winger David Jurasek signs with Benfica

Czech left-back David Jurasek, who was at Slavia Prague, signed with Benfica until 2028, announced the two clubs this Monday (10).

“Welcome, Jurasek,” tweeted the Lisbon club, who recently became Portuguese champions, before posting photos of the 22-year-old in the new shirt.

Earlier, Slavia had thanked the side and announced his departure towards the Portuguese club, after a season and a half in Prague. “I’m looking forward to it. I’ve watched Benfica evolve in the Champions League and I think we can go further,” Jurasek told Slavia’s website.

Benfica reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League and won their 38th Portuguese title in May, after a four-year drought.

According to the Czech newspaper Sport, Benfica would have paid 14 million euros (R$ 75.3 million at current exchange rates) to hire the winger, who has already played three games for the Czech national team.

Last week, the Portuguese club announced the return of Argentine world champion Angel Di Maria, who debuted in Europe with the Eagles (2007-2010).

Benfica also signed Turkish midfielder Orkun Kökcü, who was at Feyenoord, for 25 million euros (R$ 134.5 million).
