Bayern legend blasts Lucas Hernández after club farewell: “I don’t believe a word”

Defender Lucas Hernández, recently announced by the Paris Saint Germainpublished this Sunday a farewell message from the Bayern Munchen. After four years at the team, many supporters were unhappy with the Frenchman’s performance, which cost the club €80m at the time. Bayern legend Mehmet Scholl took his outrage to the comments of Hernández’s farewell post.

“I don’t believe a word from you. Bye bye”, published the former German player, who played for the Bavarian team from 1992 to 2007.

The French athlete arrived at the German club in 2019 and ended up being put up for sale this European summer, as his contract was valid until June 2024 and he could leave the team for free when the bond ended. In farewell, Hernández highlighted the support during Bayern’s years and winning the Champions League in 2020.

“It is with a heavy heart that I announce my departure from the club today. After careful thought, I have decided to take on new challenges. I want to thank you for your unconditional support during my time here. The moments shared will remain in my memory forever, as will the trophies won, especially the Champions League, which I always dreamed of”, he wrote.

The player even concluded the message asking for “respect for the decision” made by him.

Lucas Hernández was also criticized in June by another Bavarian club legend. Lothar Matthäus commented that there was no more affection for the defender within the team and charged the Frenchman’s loyalty after he was injured for a long time and the team offered the necessary support.

“The mentality was always there on the pitch, but he was also injured several times over many months. You can remember that as a player and stay loyal to the club for longer,” Matthaüs commented to the channel. Sky Sports.
