Lionel Messi may not be the only Argentine to leave PSG in this transfer window. The newspaper The Team published this Sunday that striker Mauro Icardi is leaving the French team for Turkey, to join Galatasaray.
The 30-year-old was loaned to the team last season, where he was one of the highlights in winning the Turkish championship. His trip to Galatasaray should cost 10 million euros (about R$ 53 million at current prices) to the club’s coffers.
The Argentine’s departure should be facilitated by the fact that he only has a contract with PSG until 2024, meaning that the athlete can leave for free next season. Icardi arrived in France in 2018 and was signed the following year for €50 million.
The striker’s move to Turkey is due to the great numbers he had last season. There were 23 goals and eight assists in 26 games, enough to convince Galatasaray to negotiate his permanent stay.
