O Valencia announced this Saturday the hiring of midfielder Pepelu for five seasons, after paying five million euros, about R$ 26.7 million at the current price, to the Levantea season after the Spanish player had renewed his contract for ten years with this club.
The 24-year-old midfielder, who came from Levante’s youth academy, stayed with the team after relegation to the second division in 2022, but was unable to help them rise to the first division after losing to Alavés in June in a access playoff.

Pepelu will now play for city rivals, Valencia, after the team led by Rubén Baraja has remained at great expense in the elite of Spanish football.
“Valencia CF and Levante UD have reached an agreement for the transfer of José Luis García Vayà, known in football as Pepelu, who will wear Valencia’s jersey for the next five seasons,” Valencia said in a statement, announcing that the clause of termination to leave his new club is 100 million euros, R$ 534 million.
In his last season for Levante, Pepelu was an absolute starter. In the campaign that almost earned the team the return to the first division of the Spanish Championship, the midfielder played 47 times. In the three times he was left out, two were due to suspensions.
