Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea announced his departure from the Manchester United after twelve years defending the ‘Red Devils’ goal, with a message on Twitter.
De Gea, who won the Golden Glove last season as the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in Premier League, received criticism for errors at the end of the season. His contract with Manchester United expired on the last day of June, without an agreement having been reached, despite negotiations for his continuity at the Old Trafford club.

In a message on social networks, De Gea, 32, thanked Manchester United fans for their support, but informed the need for a change of scenery: “Now is the right time to face a new challenge, to launch myself again into a new environment”, began the goalkeeper. “Manchester will always be in my heart, Manchester formed me and will never leave me,” he added.
