Tarasova said that Roman Kostomarov could head the Russian Figure Skating Federation
Honored coach of the USSR in figure skating Tatyana Tarasova spoke about the future of the Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov after recovery. Her words are quoted by Metaratings.ru.
Tarasova said that Kostomarov could head the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR). “I think it’s a good idea. I would support such an initiative,” she said.
On July 6, three-time Olympic champion, State Duma deputy Irina Rodnina came up with a similar initiative. She noted that the athlete showed everyone that life does not end.
Kostomarov was discharged from the clinic on July 6. The figure skater posted a video saying goodbye to the hospital staff and thanking the doctors for saving his life. According to the Shot Telegram channel, he was only discharged for a week so that he could be with his family.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. Due to the prolonged connection to a blood oxygenator and a ventilator, tissue began to die. Doctors amputated both feet of the figure skater, then the shins of both legs, the entire right hand and several fingers of the left.
