Fitness expert Tim says strength training should be done before cardio
Fitness expert Trevor Tim called the correct sequence of strength and cardio workouts. His words are quoted by Men’s Health.
The coach said that strength training is associated with an increased risk of injury. He noted that pre-fatiguing the muscles with cardio would increase this risk. Thus, strength training should be done before cardio training.
Tim emphasized that before any workout there should be a good warm-up. “You will improve blood flow throughout the body, invigorate the nervous system and improve concentration, which will prepare you for a great activity,” the specialist explained.
Previously, fitness expert Jillian Michaels denied the benefits of cardio training in order to lose weight. She called them one of the least effective types of exercise for weight loss.
