New hiring of Real Madrid, midfielder Arda Guler was presented this Friday at the club’s sports complex, in Valdebebas, Spain. The Turkish promise carried out the last medical tests necessary to sign with the Spaniards until June 2029.
Alongside president Florentino Pérez, Guler received the number 24 shirt and spoke for the first time as a Real player. The 18-year-old said he wants to leave his mark on the team just like Meringues legend Di Stéfano.
“I want to thank all my family and all the people who contributed to reaching this moment. I also appreciate the beautiful words of the president. I also want to be a club legend like Di Stéfano, ”he said.

In addition to the Madrid team, other teams were also negotiating with Fenerbahçe to sign the player, such as Barcelona and Milan. Despite this, Guler chose to play for Real due to the great relevance of the club.
“Many clubs were interested and we kept in touch with some, but when Real Madrid came in and told me I could play, the other offers lost value. This is the best club in the world and they didn’t need to tell me anything else to convince me”, he revealed.
Commanded by coach Jorge Jesus at Fenerbahçe, Guler played in 81 opportunities with the Istanbul team, scoring 23 goals and distributing 25 assists. His good performance also culminated in calls for the Turkish national team.
