L’Equipe: Ukraine returned to the application of Spain, Portugal and Morocco to host the 2030 World Cup
Ukraine returned to the bid to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup. This became known to L’Equipe.
She joined Spain, Portugal and Morocco in the bid. If the candidacy of the four countries is chosen by the International Football Federation (FIFA), then the 2030 World Cup could be the first World Cup to be held on two continents at once.
Initially, Spain, Portugal and Ukraine submitted a joint application to host the tournament, while Morocco submitted an individual one. Later it became known that Ukraine risks not having time to prepare for the tournament and therefore may be excluded from the application. After that, it was reported that Morocco joined the application of European countries.
In addition, two more groups of countries expressed their desire to host the World Cup. The first included Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Greece, and the second included Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay and Chile. The host of the tournament is to be decided in 2024.
