Russian hockey player Lyubushkin explained that actions in support of LGBT people are inappropriate for children
The Russian defender of the National Hockey League (NHL) club Buffalo Sabers Ilya Lyubushkin spoke about why he considers actions in support of LGBT people before matches inappropriate. This is reported by Izvestia.
“When children come to hockey and see this, you have to explain, tell them why this was done, what it means. I think that all the same, in the presence of children, such things are inappropriate, ”the player explained.
Lyubushkin was among the Russian hockey players who refused last season to wear a rainbow jersey in support of LGBT for a pre-match rehearsal. On June 23, the NHL leadership decided to cancel the obligation for clubs to participate in the promotion.
Lyubushkin played 68 games in the NHL regular season last season. He scored two goals and 12 assists.
