O Bayern Munchen and the Japanese Football Federation (JFA) renewed their current partnership for another three years, which specifically establishes the training of young Japanese talent in the Bavarian club’s youth categories, Bayern announced on Tuesday.
“By extending our cooperation (started in 2018), we pursue a common goal: to bring world-class players,” explained ‘Rekordmeister’ president Oliver Kahn. “We are proud to have a familiar face from Japanese football in our squad, with world-class player Saki Kumagai.”
The agreement establishes not only the sending of Japanese youngsters to the Bayern training center (Bayern Campus), but also a collaboration in the area of coach education, in the organization of ‘stages’ for the lower categories of the Japanese national team in Munich, as well as friendly games between youth teams.
“The Japanese market is extremely interesting for FC Bayern,” explained Andreas Jung, marketing manager for the Bavarian giant.
