José Pekerman will take the reins of the Venezuelan national team, last in the qualifying round for Qatar 2022

From Argentina, journalist Juan Pablo Varsky and producer César Luis Merlo anticipated the news.

José Pekerman will be presenting in the next few hours as the new coach of Venezuela. The 72-year-old Argentine returns to the field after his departure from the Colombian national team in 2018 and to replace José Peseiro on the Venezuelan bench.

Journalists from Venezuela and Argentina assured this Tuesday morning that Pekerman will be in charge of directing the Venezuelan soccer team.

The Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF) plans to hold a press conference in the next few minutes, in which the strategist, former coach of Colombia, is expected to be presented.

Pekerman would arrive accompanied by Fernando Batista, who until now was the coordinator of the Argentine youth teams. The two Argentines have known each other for years.

For the 72-year-old coach, Vinotinto will be his third team to coach after Argentina and Colombia.

Venezuela occupies the last place in the South American qualifying round for the Qatar 2022 World Cup with 7 units with a distance of 10 points over the playoff square. Pekerman will debut in January against Bolivia and in February against Uruguay. (D)
