Arsenal are expected to announce a signing package in the coming days after reaching a deal with two players. According to The Athletic, the Gunners forwarded a deal with West Ham’s Declan Rice and Ajax’s Jurrien Timber.
Both players will undergo medical tests in the next few hours and must make the transfer to Arsenal official. According to journalist David Ornstein, the English club will disburse more than 160 million euros (about R$ 845 million) in the operation.
After refuse two proposals, West Ham decided to accept Arsenal’s latest offer for Declan Rice’s pass. You Gunners will pay around 121 million euros, which will make the 24-year-old midfielder the most expensive signing in the club’s history.
The English player’s meetings with coach Mikel Arteta and director Edu Gaspar were instrumental in convincing Rice to transfer to Arsenal. That’s because Manchester City tried to get through the negotiations, but gave up after hearing the counterproposals from West Ham.
In addition to Declan Rice, the Gunners also reached an agreement to sign defender Jurrien Timber from Ajax. The 22-year-old is set to leave Dutch football for €45m.
Timber plays both at centre-back and full-back at Ajax and was an outright starter last season. The Dutchman played 42 games, scored two goals and provided two assists.
