The attacker also commented that the players carry a responsibility that can be fundamental for the future of the women’s soccer in the country. “If we win this World Cup, it’s something that will change our lives and that of many girls in Brazil, because it will lift our football and help everyone to look at women’s football around here”.
Gabi Nunes, who is without a club, even spoke about a possible return to Corinthians, in which he was featured. The striker also mentions Timão’s record as the highest female goalscorer, a mark that was previously beaten by Victória Albuquerque – so far, the midfielder has scored 80 goals for the alvinegro.
“Go back? I still don’t know what’s going to happen, I don’t know about my future yet. I’m sure that, when I come back, I’ll get that artillery again to have that good richinha, a healthy fight”, concluded the athlete.
