Stage 5 of the 2023 Tour de Francewhich is disputed wednesday july 5will come out of pau and it will end in laruns. With 162.7 kilometers of the route, the stage will begin at 1:05 p.m. and will end around 5:21 p.m.
It will be the first mountain stage of the edition, after overcoming the two previous flat stages. It will be a good stage for the favorites to try to win points for qualifying.
After a first half with a practically flat route, the port of Col de Soudet (special category, at 7.2%) will break the pack and choose the first group of leaders. Then they will go down to Col d’Ichere (3rd category, at 7%) to finally face the demanding Marie-Blanque (1st category, at 8.8%), 18 km from the finish line.
It will be too soon for the winner of the stage to be proclaimed permanent leader of the Tour, but if someone falls behind, they could say goodbye to their options.
The stage will be able to be seen live on eitb.eus and on ETB1; in eitb.eusthe broadcast will start at 2:40 p.m.while ETB1 is going to start offering the degree to 3:00 p.m.
