Ex-player of “Spartak” Gavrilov said that after a stroke he can’t take anything in his hand

Former football player of Spartak and the USSR national team Yuri Gavrilov spoke about the consequences of a stroke. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

The ex-player said that he is progressing in terms of speech. “But the right hand has not yet departed, the previous functions have not been restored, there is no former strength in it, and I can’t take anything in my hand yet,” Gavrilov noted.

The 70-year-old veteran of Spartak added that he did not know when he would be discharged from the rehabilitation center. “Everything will depend on how the recovery process goes. I am now going through all the procedures that they prescribe to me, ”said Gavrilov.

Gavrilov was hospitalized on May 30 after a stroke, on June 7 he successfully underwent surgery on the carotid artery. At the end of June, he was transferred from the hospital to a rehabilitation center.

The football player played for Spartak from 1977 to 1985. Together with the team, he won the USSR championship twice.
