Deputy Zhurova admitted that figure skater Kostomarov would return to sports after prosthetics
State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova assessed the chances of the Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov to return to sports after prosthetics. Her words are quoted by NEWS.ru.
Zhurova admitted that the skater would be able to return to the sport and feel full with prostheses. “Perhaps we will come up with something, for example, special skates, to allow Roman to compete in figure skating. It is clear that he will not be able to demonstrate and perform all the elements, as he did before, ”she noted.
Earlier, Kostomarov showed records from the hospital from training on prostheses. In one video, he is exercising on an exercise bike, in another he is swinging his legs and working out climbing stairs. According to the Telegram channel “112”, the figure skater was given temporary prostheses, but individual and modern ones have already been ordered.
Kostomarov was admitted to the hospital on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. Due to the prolonged connection to a blood oxygenator and a ventilator, tissue began to die. According to Moskovsky Komsomolets, the doctors had to amputate both feet of the figure skater, then the shins of both legs, the entire right hand and several fingers of the left.
