Leipzig director confirms Gvardiol wants to play for Manchester City

O Manchester City is in advanced negotiations for the signing of defender Josko Gvardiol, from RB Leipzig, from Germany. With this, the athlete’s wish is being met.

In contact with the local media, the German club’s director of football, Max Eberl, confirmed that the 21-year-old Croatian defender has chosen City as his next destination.

“Josko (Gvardiol) and his staff have communicated to us their desire to be traded to Manchester City,” Max told the Leipziger Volkszeitung.

However, Manchester City have yet to make an official offer to Leipzig for Gvardiol. The offer, however, must be presented soon, after the athlete’s endorsement to the board.

In England, Chelsea e Tottenham tried to sign Josko Gvardiol last season but were unsuccessful. The defender’s market value rose considerably after his good performances for Croatia in the world Cup in Qatar in 2022.
