American boxer Deontay Wilder accused Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk of cowardice

American boxer Deontay Wilder accused Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk of cowardice because of his unwillingness to fight him. The athlete’s words are quoted by the YouTube channel 78SPORTSTV.

“This man is afraid of me. He ran away from me so often. Usyk was repeatedly offered big money for a duel with me, but he refused. It is said that he does not want problems with the Bomber (Wilder’s nickname is approx. “Tapes.ru”),” said the American.

On June 28, it was reported that British boxer Tyson Fury refused to fight Usyk at the super tournament in Saudi Arabia, scheduled for December 2023. talkSPORT correspondent Michael Benson noted that negotiations are ongoing, but with a high degree of probability the fight will not take place before the end of the year.

Information about holding a super boxing tournament in Saudi Arabia appeared in April. Usyk, Wilder, Fury and fellow British heavyweight Anthony Joshua were said to be taking part. In the semi-finals, Usyk and Fury were supposed to meet, as well as Wilder and Joshua. The winners had to determine the strongest in the final.

The 36-year-old Usyk has 20 wins in 20 fights. He holds the World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF), International Boxing Organization (IBO) and WBA Super heavyweight championship belts. 37-year-old Wilder won 43 wins, 42 of them by knockout, and suffered two losses, another fight with his participation ended in a draw.
