The punctures in it final stretch of the second stage of Tour de France have been frequent and have been due to thumbtacks that have appeared in the cameras of the bicycles, according to some directors have denounced.
“They have put thumbtacks on us. Almost all of our cyclists have punctured, all except Victor Lafay and one other. I think they have gone too far, the thumbtacks were left over,” said the Cofidis sports director, Bingen Fernández.
As Euskadi Irratia has learned, there have been seven Cofidis riders who have punctured, including Ion Izagirre. The punctures have occurred at the height of Hernani.
Other directors have also pointed out that many of their runners have suffered punctures for the same reason.
