Darwin Nunez has been a Liverpool player since this season. The striker joined the Premier League after a great season in Benfica Lisbon, where he scored a total of 34 goals last year. However, the beginnings of the Uruguayan in the new team are not the best. In eight matches he scored only two goals. Taking into account the fact that the club paid 75 million euros for him plus 25 million bonuses, expectations were much higher for him.
Darwin Nunez has a problem at Liverpool. “Sometimes I feel undecided”
One of the reasons for Nunez’s low disposition is that the 23-year-old still has not learned English. This means that the striker does not understand, above all, the words that coach Jurgen Klopp says to the team. “Honestly, I don’t understand anything Klopp is saying in preparation for the game and during his presentation, but of course I ask my teammates to tell me what he said.” But I think Klopp is very clear about his style of play, asking us footballers to do simple things and not be afraid to play. He asks all of us to be confident – he explained in an interview for TNT Sports.
The Uruguayan also referred to his attitude at the beginning of the season. – Sometimes I feel indecisive, or more precisely, that I do not have maximum self-confidence. However, things get better over time. The coach always gives me confidence, and at the end of the day I know the goals will come, said the striker.
Not only Nunez presents itself below expect. Liverpool, after seven games, are only 9th in the Premier League table with 10 points. This result consists of two wins, four draws and one defeat. Arsenal are in the lead (21 points), ahead of Manchester City (20 points) and Tottenham (17 points). In the next match, Jurgen Klopp’s players will face the competition leaders. The match against Arsenal will take place on Sunday, October 9 at 17:30.
