Colombian Cuadrado leaves Juventus after eight years

Colombian Juan Cuadrado, 35 years old, is leaving the Juventus after eight years with the ‘bianconera’ shirt. The announcement was made this Friday by the Italian club.

“Grazie Panita! There were eight rich, special and unforgettable seasons”, wrote the club on its website, coinciding with the expiry date of the player’s contract.

coming from Chelsea in 2015, Cuadrado won 11 titles with ‘Vecchia Signora’: five Serie A TIM (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020), four Italian Cups (2016, 2017, 2018 and 2021) and two Italian Super Cups (2018 and 2020).

The athlete, fast and accurate at crosses, however, had a disappointing last season, as did the rest of the team.

To replace him, Juventus are bringing in 23-year-old Lille striker Timothy Weah. The son of the legendary George Weah underwent a medical on Thursday and is expected to sign a five-year contract, according to the Italian press.

The signing should be made official in the coming days, as soon as the transfer market in Europe is officially opened.
