Barcelona does not exercise preference, and Santos has an open path to sell Angelo

O Barcelona will not exercise striker Angelo’s buying preference. With that, the Santos must conclude negotiations with the Chelsea shortly.

According to the journalist Fabricius Roman, the Spaniards are only focused on signing Vitor Roque from Athletico. In this way, the Blues they have a clear path to sign with the jewel from santista in the coming days.

In addition, another factor that leads Barça not to invest in Angelo is the fair play financial. The culés are experiencing difficulties with their accounts and are only targeting one-off signings in that window.

Barcelona had priority in buying Angelo since the beginning of 2022, when Santos gave preference to the 18-year-old striker as a way to pay off an old debt. The debt referred to 2016, when Alvinegro Praiano did not warn the Catalans about Gabigol’s negotiation with Internazionale.

Now, Angelo should travel to London by the end of the week to carry out medical tests and sign with Chelsea. The English will pay 15 million euros (about R$ 80 million) for the jewel from Santos.
