The Euroleague Union Shareholders Assembly, meeting this Thursday, has confirmed the provisional lists of teams that will participate in the maximum continental competition as well as the approval of a play-in that those who finish the first phase between seventh and tenth place will play in order to access the quarterfinals for the title.

The teams that finish the league phase in seventh and eighth place will face each other in a match and the winner will face the second-placed in the quarterfinals. The loser will play the winner of the duel between the ninth and tenth places in another match, and the one who emerges unscathed from this cross will meet the first classified.

With this format, in which the team with the best balance during the campaign will be home in each game, the Euroleague aims to increase the excitement of the competition.

The teams included in the Euroleague are: ALBA Berlin, anadolu efes, Monaco, baskonia, Red Star, armani milan, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, fenerbahce, ASVEL Villeurbanne, Maccabi, olympiacos, Panathinaikos, partizan, real Madrid, Valencia Basketball, Virtus Bologna and Zalgiris Kaunas.
