Andrea Pirlo, who last season led Turkey’s Fatih Karagümrük, will return to coach in Italy, ahead of Sampdoria, who will compete in Serie B, the historic club announced this Tuesday (27).
Pirlo signed a contract until June 30, 2025, he explained to “Samp”.

The 44-year-old former Milan and Juventus midfielder is still looking forward to a successful coaching experience.
Pirlo debuted on the sidelines in style at Juve in mid-2020. However, the results were not as expected and he was fired after one season, despite the team having won two titles (Supercopa da Italia and Copa of Italy) and having qualified for the Champions League (4th place in the A league).
After a free year on the market, he took over Fatih Karagümrük, from Istanbul, in 2022. Three rounds to the end of the season, in May, Pirlo was sacked with the team in ninth place in the Turkish Championship.
Sampdoria, which is facing major financial difficulties and finished last season at the bottom of Serie A, was bought at the end of May by entrepreneurs Andrea Radrizzani and Matteo Manfredi, owners of Leeds United.
