Businessman Rafael Verduga resigned from the position of financial vice-president of Barcelona SC this Tuesday, thus confirming it UNIVERSEthat his candidacy for club president is a fact.

In an interview for this newspaper, the now former director hinted at his intention to run for office in recent days, although he did not take it for granted because the date of the election, which will be held on September 2, was not yet known.

“We work with proper financial planning and order, with effective management, reaching agreements with creditors, thereby avoiding suspensions, lawsuits and sanctions; and the no less important fact, the reduction of the institution’s obligations, a milestone that has not been achieved in the last at least 25 years,” reads part of the letter published on his Twitter.

“I am happy with the way we have come at the club, but there is still a lot to improve. This does not end here. My beloved team will continue to be my priority. We will be in touch,” he added.

UNIVERSE He had access to Verduga’s June 27 resignation, in which he thanks Carlos Alfaro Moreno, president of the Toreador.

“My candidacy for president of Barcelona is a fact,” Verduga told this newspaper, noting that there is still no date for its official launch.

Regarding the integration of his roster, the now former director said: “We have a great project for Barcelona SC and we are choosing the best profiles to make the roster,” he concluded. (D)
