The head of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Stanislav Pozdnyakov commented on the statement of the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach on the admission of Russians to tournaments. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

“Russian athletes are invited to exchange their nationality and civic position for a humiliating neutral status,” Pozdnyakov said. He added that the conditions of the IOC compel athletes to violate the laws of the country and the Olympic Charter.

On September 30, Bach named the condition for the admission of Russian athletes to international starts. “Those who distanced themselves [от ситуации на Украине]should be able to compete under a neutral flag,” he said.

At the end of February, many sports organizations banned the national teams of Russia and Belarus from participating in tournaments on the recommendation of the IOC. In some disciplines, such as motorsport, cycling, tennis and chess, Russians continue to compete without a flag.
