Fotosor: legionnaires of the Turkish Fenerbahce declared their unwillingness to go to the tournament in Russia

Legionnaires of the Turkish club “Fenerbahce” declared their unwillingness to go to the tournament in Russia. It is reported by Fotosor.

In July, the team is to travel to St. Petersburg to play in the international friendly tournament PARI Premier Cup. The team met the decision to go to competitions in Russia ambiguously: the legionnaires, including the newcomer, the captain of the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina Edin Dzeko, opposed participation in the matches because of the political situation in the world and within Russia.

The PARI Premier Cup will take place from 1 to 15 July. St. Petersburg Zenit, Serbian Crvena Zvezda and Azerbaijani Neftchi will also take part in the tournament.

On February 28, 2022, the International Football Federation and the Union of European Football Associations excluded Russian teams and clubs from international tournaments. The teams do not play in European competitions, and the Russian team has lost the opportunity to fight for reaching the finals of the 2022 World Cup.
