Megadeth’s first drummer is dead. He was 58 years old

“Today is a very sad day because we lost my brother William Lee Rauch. Lee was a very strong man of faith so I know he is with God now. He was an amazing drummer who helped create one of the greatest metal bands ever, being Megadeth’s first drummer , playing alongside Dave Mustaine, Kerry King and David Ellefson, his heart was set on success and came close to it many times.

Lee was a very loving and devoted person. He was also extremely hard-working and continued to play drums in church until the end of his days, which he enjoyed. He was a loving son and a very honorable man. First of all, he was my brother and although I didn’t always keep in touch with him as I should, I loved him dearly and will miss him very much.

“Love you brother, have a good trip. I hope you enjoy the setup they have prepared for you there. I bet it’s not as big as your blue set. A memorial service for Lee will be held and details will be forwarded to you, when we have a specific date and time. Please pray for our family “- summed up the brother of the deceased musician in the entry.
