Conor McGregor thanks fans for support after rape allegations
Irish mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Conor McGregor has commented for the first time on allegations of rape against a woman. It is reported by TMZ.
The athlete thanked the fans who supported him in this situation. “Thank you all for your support, I appreciate it,” said McGregor.
When asked about his future plans, the fighter replied that he intended to continue his sports career. He is currently preparing for his return to the ring.
On June 15, McGregor was accused of raping a woman. According to TMZ, the incident occurred during Game 4 of the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets in the National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals. Ariel Mitchell, the lawyer for the victim, said the Irishman committed violent acts in the men’s room.
McGregor is a former UFC Lightweight and Featherweight Champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. In total, the Irishman has 28 fights in which he won 22 victories and suffered six defeats.
