Ecuadorian Emiliano Linares will have to look for another opportunity to fight for a contract with the promotion Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) after he was defeated on Tuesday by Australian Jack Jenkins in the reality show Dana White’s Contender Series in Las Vegas (Nevada).
Jenkins finished Linares via technical knockout in the third round and got the contract to be part of the roster of UFC.
In the first round there was a brief exchange and then the fighters went to the ground. Linares spread his level on the floor and went for the submission, but Jenkins was effective with his striking and attacked with powerful volume of blows.
In a second roundJenkins dominated with his ground and pound and worked with his powerful punches. Linares took a lot of punishment, but held on until the bell rang.
Same trend in the third round with Jenkins looking for the takedown. The Australian turned the punching machine back on to finish off Linares with seconds to go. The referee’s arrest 31 seconds from the end declared the monarch of the Eternal MMA organization the winner.
Bo Nickal, Sam Patterson, Jack Jenkins, Rafael Estevam and Mateus Mendonca all won contracts on the final episode of DWCS Season 6.
In addition to the contracts and after spectacular performances, UFC boss Dana White announced that both Mexican-American Raúl Rosas Jr. and Bo Nickal will be added to the EA Sports video game. UFC 4.
