The surfer Aitor Francesena mathematically wins the two world circuits in which he competes
Aitor Francesena adds and continues. The championship held on the Canteras beach in the Canary Islands and belonging to the Spanish Para Surfing Cup had no secrets for him and neither have the rest of the international championships that have been held this year. The objective is clear, to proclaim himself world champion again, as it did last year, but this time in two different circuits.
One of them is the Adaptive Surfing Professionals World Championship Tour 2023 It consists of three championships and Aitor has already won the first two tests, the last one this Friday. More than 100 surfers from more than 17 countries compete in this circuit.
On the other hand, the AMP Surfing (Association of Amputee Surfers) proposes another parallel circuit, in which Aitor Francesena is also imposing himself with authority. The first victory came in California, and the second just five days ago on Jacó beach (Costa Rica). In this circuit the finals will be held in California in October or November and still without confirming if it will be in Huntington Beach or Pismo Beach.
At 53 years old, it does not even cross his mind to hang the table. In the long term he has the challenge of becoming an Olympian. “If my body and mind hold up, if adapted surfing finally enters the Paralympic programme, I’ll be in Los Angeles 2028 competing and giving it my all” ‘Gallo’ has declared many times.
