Russian Artur Beterbiev spoke in an interview with the Boxing TV YouTube channel about the loss of love for boxing.
“At what point did you stop loving boxing? After the Olympics [2012 года]. Refereeing … After London, I was not going to continue boxing, ”the athlete shared and added that the promoters insisted on continuing his career. He added that he would rather watch an interesting movie than a boxing match.
Beterbiev owns three championship belts in the light heavyweight category: according to the versions of the World Boxing Council (WBC), the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and the World Boxing Organization (WBO). In total, he won 19 victories in his career and did not suffer a single defeat.
At the 2012 Games, Beterbiev reached the quarterfinals. At this stage, he lost to the future Olympic champion, Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
